Accessibility

The Deutsches Technikmuseum is committed to making its exhibitions and educational programs accessible to all visitors. Most of our buildings, exhibition spaces, and event venues are wheelchair-accessible. Exceptions include historic structures such as the Historic Brewery and the windmills in the museum park.

Visitors who present a disability ID card are eligible for reduced-price admission. Free admission applies to recognized accompanying persons.

Getting here

  • The Gleisdreieck subway station is accessible: U1, U2, U3
  • The Möckernbrücke subway station is not wheelchair-accessible: U1, U3, U7
  • The Anhalter Bahnhof S-Bahn station is accessible: S1, S2, S25, S26
  • Disabled parking spaces near the entrances
  • Accessible path made of flat-ground cobblestones  
  • on the forecourt and along the historic Ladestrasse

Museum Building

  • Step-free entrance to the main building of the Deutsches Technikmuseum
  • Entrance via a ramp to the Science Center Spectrum and the exhibition area on Ladestrasse
  • Button to open the door
  • Museum shops and restaurants are accessible
  • Accessible restrooms in all parts of the building
  • To borrow folding wheelchairs at the coat check, please register in advance (by email to info@technikmuseum.berlin)
  • A limited number of strollers are available for toddlers.
  • Service dogs are allowed in all areas.

Exhibitions

  • In the entrance area of the Deutsches Technikmuseum, an information center provides information on the themes of the permanent exhibitions through tactile orientation maps, models, audio guides, and texts in Braille.
  • Due to the historic cobblestones, the museum park is only partially wheelchair-accessible.
